National Hispanic Media Coalition Makes History

PHOENIX – July 18, 2012 - Voice America Talk Radio Network today announced that Mr. Alex Nogales, President and CEO, The National Hispanic Media Coalition, will join Sharon E. Davis, host of A Safe Place to Talk about Race radio program on the Voice America Variety Channel (http://www.voiceamerica.com/show/2101/a-safe-place-to-talk-about-race) Monday, July 23rd, 2012 at 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Alex Nogales advocates for Latinos and has led some the most successful boycott and demonstrations against advertisers of the “Howard Stern” radio show, FCC broadcast licensing, lack of diversity at ABC and parent company, Disney, and gained written understanding with NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox.

Race and culture: When do words jump on a train that can lead to discrimination and violence? The inflammatory programing and radio talk with anti-Latino themes requires a response. The Latino community has over $1 Trillion per year of spending power, and can decide where it will go. Is there a Latino organization or voice that speaks out about targeting Latinos?
