PART #6: FINAL

2:30pm
Matanuska Peak Trail
Palmer, Alaska
I decided to get lost on my way back to Anchorage. So, I decided to hike to the peak of Matanuska. The Arctic winds are whipping and I heard a sound in which I have never heard the winds do before. It sounded like a large roar. However I pushed onward. The trail had a detour so I took the detour and hiked up the steep mountain side. With the Arctic winds blowing, I can say that it was very trying. I had to stop several times to get rest. As I kept climbing, the steeper it got the harder it got. The trail is about 4 miles and I completed 2 because as I started climbing I could see that the Arctic winds had dropped many trees over the path, making it impossible to get through. I climbed over some, but it was too much. So I turned around and headed back. The elevation is 6,119 ft and I was half way there.

It is a sight to see the water mist/vapors and the sand racing along the river during these Arctic storms.

I shall like to thank the wonderful and helpful people of the State of Alaska. This is truly a scenic state. This Alaskan expedition has truly stretched my stamina. My patience with nature has been improved and my strength has been renewed. This Alaska expedition has broaden my whole outlook of the world, by being tested by the elements of the Arctic nature. I truly understand the beauty through the roughness. Although I saw very little sun, however, the things I saw in this large USA state, made up for the lack of sun. The Native Alaskans people are a gem to the Arctic. Many centuries ago, the African presence has been seen here, but nothing is remembered of him. I hope my presence, brought my African ancestry enlightenment. Through this diary I shall make sure that their presence is felt and not forgotten,.
To my Native American ancestry, you have opened my eyes wider than ever before. We have so much in common and your Arctic hospitality has strengthen my inner spirit.
Alaska is a state that shall never leave my blood. As I was tested by nature and through nature, that nature has taught me more about nature.
To the GREAT ONE!!!
Thank you God Almighty and my African and Native American ancestors for giving me the eyes to see such beauty and strength.
　
IMPORTANT: THE ALASKA PERMANENT FUND
Most people in the United States are not aware of the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend.(Internet search.) Each Alaska resident, after one year residency, receives an annual check paid out of the dividends of the Alaska Oil Pipeline. The dividends range from $800 - $3,200 per year or more. It is amended into the Alaska Constitution, as royalties paid to the residents. The funds have grown from $700, 000 in 1977 to $4,000,000,000 (4 billion) in 2011. This is a sort of Frontier Money for attracting people and people moving to Alaska.

The Great Native American and African explorers who made the voyage before Mr. Henson whose stories were never told and who are THE TRUE DISCOVERERS.
