Demand from people looking for a house or flat to rent in Primrose Hill and St John's Wood is surging - with not enough properties to meet tenants' demand, a leading letting agent says.

Despite a rise in rental listings in the last quarter, Sandords report that demand from tenants looking for a flat or house to rent in St John's Wood continues to heavily outstrip demand, helping to push rental values higher in the process.

St John's Wood and Primrose Hill, which feature some of the most sought-after homes in London, are well known for being among the not desirable places to live in the capital, which explains why local housing demand is so high. It also explains why many local landlords are planning to increase rents this year, with some expected to do so within the first quarter of 2013.
