Org Synopsis 

Founded in 2004 by a group of community residents concerned about the rapid decline of the neighborhood. The Burnside Neighborhood Association (BNA) is a community-based 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization, its Board of Directors and members are comprised of homeowners, renters, businesses, property owners, and law enforcement interested in collaborating and working together to improve the quality of life and the overall livability of the community in which we serve. BNA benefits to the neighborhood are manifold. As a community-based organization we continue to work together to make our neighborhood, not only a safe and prosperous neighborhood, but one that also take the challenge of developing and implementing positive programs to help our youth who are our future leaders become fully functioning human beings in our society as a whole.

In addtion, BNA offers a variety of innovative programs ranging from counseling referral services, to housing, to training programs for adolescents, to a variety of recreational programs. Because we are a community-based organization the community is an excellent place for us to operate the majority of our programs. Program participants have the opportunity to participate in BNA's wide range of recreational, cultural and athletic services and programs. These activities provide young people with important opportunities to benefit from group activity with peers and acquire new social skills and interests.
