TROY, Mich., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Rodney O'Neal, 48, executive 
          vice president of Delphi Corporation

          Electrical Architecture Sector, has been awarded the 2002 Lifetime 
          Achievement in Industry Award winner by the National Society of Black 
          Engineers (NSBE).

          Black Engineers. The NSBE is a tremendous organization and their 
          recognition is a high point in my career," said O'Neal, who will be 
          honored tonight at the Association's 5th Annual Golden Torch Awards (GTA) 
          Ceremony held in Orlando, Fla.
          The black-tie gala recognizes community and technical excellence in 
          leadership among institutions, companies and individuals. The primary 
          goal of the awards is to distinguish excellence among African American 
          engineers, scientists and technologists.
          The Lifetime Achievement Awards are presented to individuals, based 
          on their exceptional leadership skills, professional success, academic 
          excellence and positive impact on the African American community.

          O'Neal began his career with General Motors Corp. in 1971 as a 
          student at General Motors Institute. At Delphi, his responsibilities 
          include leading a sector of 110,000 employees and $10 billion in 
          sales. He is also a member of the Delphi Strategy Board, the company's 
          top policy-making group and serves as the executive champion for 
          Delphi's Ford customer team. O'Neal was also recently named 2002 Black 
          Engineer of the Year at the 16th Annual Black Engineer of the Year 
          Awards Conference sponsored by the publishers of US Black Engineer & 
          Information Technology magazine.
          O'Neal is a member of the Board of Directors of Inroads, Inc. and 
          the Woodward Governor Company. He is a member of the Executive 
          Leadership Council, and serves on the advisory board for Focus: HOPE. 
          He is also involved in a number of organizations including the Detroit 
          Institute of Arts, Mental Illness Needs Discussion Sessions (MINDS), 
          Music Hall and Lighthouse Community Services.
