Info:
Bagnor's Watermill Theatre presents a 1940s version of Gilbert & Sullivan's most famous 19th-century comic opera, Hot Mikado. There's a little town in Japan with a law that makes flirting the only crime punishable by death. The citizens are bored by this and appoint Ko Ko, a lowly tailor, as Lord High Executioner, himself condemned for flirting and thus unlikely to execute anyone else. Throw in the beautiful Yum Yum, her ardent admirer Nanki Pooh, errant son of the Mikado, and the man-eater Katisha, and a lyrical and musical treat is in store.
