Charisma … Your Secret Weapon for Success!

There is no single skill more important to your personal and professional advancement than the ability to communicate effectively.
People, who are articulate and at ease both privately and in a group, are perceived to be more intelligent, possess greater leadership qualities, and usually have successful careers. These people have charisma! The dictionary gives synonyms including: appeal, charm, allure, personality, and magnetism. That’s charisma all right, your secret weapon for success!
Now let’s use the letters in Charisma to be reminders for how best to present ourselves in personal and professional arenas

The C stands for Connection. Making a connection, or having a connection with your audience whether it’s one person or thousand is up to you. Connections are built by knowing whom you are talking with, what they care about, what they need, and how you can be of service and benefit to both of you. Make eye contact, talk directly to them, relax and listen, and smile.

The H stands for: Humor. If it’s appropriate humor is a wonderful tool. It relaxes people and actually helps them be more receptive to what is being said.

The A stands for Achieve. You will achieve more goals by overcoming your fear of public speaking. To overcome fear and nervousness, you must: breathe deeply, focus on your message, find friendly faces in the audience, be thoroughly prepared, and remember that the audience wants you to succeed.

The R stands for: Rehearse. Rehearse your speech over and over until you are completely comfortable with it.
The i stands for: Involve. Always in involve your audience. People respond much more to being a part of the conversation than to being a captive, passive listener.
The S stands for See. See yourself delivering your talk or conversation with confidence and enthusiasm. Picture the audience responding positively If you can see it, you can achieve it!

The M stands for Memorable. Always give the audience something to remember you by, for example handout, a resume, a business card, your phone number, etc.

The last A stands for Attitude. Attitude is everything! To be charismatic you must have a positive and winning attitude! A positive attitude will put you in position to achieve your goals, live your dreams, and speak with charisma!
