ARTE MECCO. The Sun's Daughters

These Hyglyx “Sunspots” produce a flowering image through a kaleidoscopic display of color. The rose-burgundy color released from the cactus apple dye generates the morning presence of a newer day in the sky. This traditional ARTE MECCO coloration makes the painting authentic of its ARTE MECCO origin.

The Hyglyx patterning depicting the water is indicative to the Egyptian hieroglyphic use with patterning the element: water. This borrowed ancient term, defines the Hyglyx with its relationship to Egyptian Hieroglyphics.

The sky is coated with the cactus apple dye. The abstract form of this painting is very obscure. Figures seem to be cut off. Images seem to appear form out of nowhere. This is another attribute to ARTE MECCO. The sun’s daughters appear to be basking on the dunes of the sand, against an aquarium of colors. Movements throughout the painting tend to journey the eye into the sun’s core. Looking into this painting, one becomes apart of the painting. All seem to be focusing onto the soleil. My struggle with the painting became when I couldn’t centralize one figure as I would normally within ARTE MECCO.

This team approach was to convey a story and/or observation. A study of tropical and kaleidoscopic ocean beauty. The tanning effect of the cactus apple dye aids solely to the painting’s production. The painting looks and feels seasonally hot, though the added Hyglyx of the water quiets and cools the tableau. This painting was created during the summer of 2005, a very hot summer. This may have been another inspiration for its aquatic appeal. ARTE MECCO is journeying my inspiration into the realms of environmental observation, thus this ARTE MECCO landscape painting, titled The Sun’s Daughters was created.
