Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in library science from a library school program accredited by the American Library Association or a master's degree in public administration, an M.B.A., or closely related field and four years supervisory experience. Position Summary This is highly responsible professional administrative work directing a major section of the Public Services Division of the Alachua County Library District. An employee in this classification is responsible for all activities, operations and functions of their assigned area, including the supervision of staff, implementation of modern library techniques and technologies, establishment of procedures, recommendation of policies, and development of short and long range plans and budgets for their assigned area, as well as assisting with District-wide planning.
