To complement the landmark Slavery in New York exhibition, The New-York Historical Society presents a range of gospel performances on Saturdays at 12pm and 2pm and Sundays at 2pm and 4pm October 12th until February 26th. Admission is free with museum admission . The gospel choirs include: Convent Avenue Baptist Church, The Voices of Convent, Cocolo Japanese Gospel Choir, Harlem Opera Theater, The Tribe of Levi, Songs of Solomon, Abyssinian Baptist Choir, The Soulernaires, Jerriese Johnson Gospel Choir, and The Newtones.
