Bookmark your calendars for Saturday, July 8, 2006 from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm, when the Harlem Book Fair Buffalo Committee host the nationally celebrated Harlem Book Fair (HBF). The renowned festival making its second visit to downtown Buffalo, is customized for Buffalo, highlighting the city’s diverse rich cultural and historical experience. The 2006 historical feature is the Underground Railroad.
The Book Fair is an outdoor family event that promotes the love of reading and literacy and is free and open to all. Activities will include readings, book signings from national and local authors, interactive children activities, seminars, panel discussions and a variety of vendors. Last year over 4000, people attended this first time event. The book fair serves as the perfect compliment to the annual Taste of Buffalo food festival that takes place the same weekend in Niagara Square.
