Pre-registration required. Co-sponsored by the Vermont Sheep & Goat Association. An afternoon of dyeing samples using a variety of natural materials for animal fibers. There will be a brief discussion of mordanting fibers using low impact mordants. Attendees will have an opportunity to work with the materials, using both dye extracts & plant material, & will set up dye pots and make samples. The day will finish with a discussion of indigo by creating an indigo vat. For the indigo, students may bring their own yarns or fiber. Everyone will receive a small set of samples and a handout. Please bring small plastic bags, plastic gloves, yellow onion skins, marigold flowers, and your lunch
