To mark Mauldin's 100th anniversary in 1990, several city residents planned an event which is now Mauldinfest. The festival was started as a celebration of Mauldin's constitution days and has since grown into a premiere event and attracts visitors from across the southeast United States. Mauldinfest is held annually during the last weekend of September and kicks off Friday night with opening ceremonies, a hot air balloon "glow" and entertainment on the main stage
