The Fall 2024 SEC Scholars Legal Program will tentatively begin on the following dates:
8/26/2024- 11/01/2024 9/09/2024- 11/15/2024
Law students will be assigned to work with SEC staff members on projects and assignments that cover a broad range of the Commission's work. Intern assignments range from supporting litigation to assisting with drafting new regulations to helping with reviews, exams or public outreach. For information about the opportunities and the work that interns do in specific division/offices within headquarters, please read the SEC's website . The SEC Scholars Legal Program will be full-time or part-time during the Fall. Work schedule will be determined and agreed upon based on the selectees academic course load schedule and division/office needs. You will have the opportunity to discuss schedule, hours, etc. upon selection and acceptance into the program. Students must work a minimum of 16 hours per week.

You will be asked to rank your top three choices of office. You will be given priority consideration of these offices but may be contacted by any of them. You must be accepted for enrollment or enrolled and seeking a JD or LL.M. at an accredited law school on at least a half-time basis (as determined by the educational institution); AND You must possess a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.

The Network Services team, under the division of Library and Information Technology Services, is responsible for the entirety of our campus network and data center infrastructure as well as central systems, which includes: wired and wireless network, our on-premise and cloud storage and compute environments, communication and enterprise collaboration systems, high-performance computing and associated infrastructure in support of these critical technologies. • Campus Network: internet service, edge routing and security, core backbone & distribution, access layer switching, indoor/outdoor Wi-Fi service, underground distribution and structured cabling. • Data Center: virtual infrastructure for compute, storage & networking including associated management tools; applications, systems appliances and cloud services for backup, replication, orchestration and disaster recovery. • Servers: modern versions of both Microsoft Windows Server and Enterprise Linux, running in virtual, physical and appliance formats, including key technologies of each. • Enterprise collaboration & productivity applications for email, calendaring, chat, storage and document collaboration. • Communications: phone service, phone system, voicemail and associated support infrastructure. • Authentication Services: enterprise directories for authentication, authorization, auditing, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication. • Cloud Services: compute, storage, enterprise services and remote connectivity to offsite providers. High-Performance Computing: specialized hardware, software and workflows for support of academic research computing needs. • Core network services: DNS, DHCP, IPAM, centralized logging, management systems and monitoring & alerting systems. • End-User Services: file servers, application virtualization & delivery.
Job Duties:
• Monitor and support all aspects of infrastructure operations. • Troubleshoot, resolve and document issues and faults with infrastructure systems and services supported by the team. • Install, manage, and upgrade server hardware and operating systems, software updates/upgrades and applications in a virtual and physical server environment. • Install, configure and manage various types of network equipment, including routers, firewalls, switches, wireless controllers and access points. • Administer applications and systems in support of core infrastructure • Develop and update internal and external documentation for the support and use of systems and services. • Share scheduled on-call responsibilities with other members of the team, including routine service requests, incidents and emergency (after-hours) response to critical issues impacting availability and security of key infrastructure. • Research, identify, evaluate and recommend new products and services to enhance, improve or optimize infrastructure operations. • Work with other members of the team and outside vendors/contractors to help plan, design and implement complex systems and solutions in support of the services we provide to campus. • Work closely with members of the team and our Director of Information Security and Privacy to ensure the integrity and security of all infrastructure and services. • Work collaboratively with members of other LITS teams and partners in other divisions across campus • Actively seek opportunities to remain up-to-date with trends and developments in infrastructure technologies. • Provide outstanding customer service in support of network and data center infrastructure to members of LITS, faculty, staff and students. • Support LITS in creating an accessible, supportive environment and an educational experience that recognizes diversity and cultural competence as integral components of academic excellence. • Assumes other duties as required or assigned. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $75,000 - $90,000.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or information technology. In the absence of a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar environment is required. Experience and ability to positively and inclusively interact with diverse student populations and campus groups.
Previous experience in a complex networking/systems environment is preferred.

The Property Appraiser is the full working level in the series which performs appraisals of property in a prescribed manner. This class is distinguished from the higher-level class of Property Appraiser, Senior which performs more complex appraisals and serves as lead on various projects. The Department of Assessment and Taxation is responsible for the assessment of real and personal property, construction of assessment rolls and the collection, recording and distribution of all tax monies within the County. The technical appraisal staff is organized into various sections for the appraisal of urban, rural, personal or commercial property SPECIAL NOTE: The Assessment and Taxation Department maintains a conflict of interest policy regarding active real estate licenses and Appraisal Certifications. Inspects new construction and improvements to existing structures, for example, new houses, additions, warehouses, tenant improvements, and interior build out; inspects, draws value conclusions, and completes appraisals on structures affected by fire, structural damage or deferred maintenance, and other appraisal assignments. 8. Researches computer data sources including residential and business multiple listing services, subscription databases, publications, GIS/satellite/aerial imagery, professional memberships, and regulatory agencies/jurisdictions/municipalities. 9. Maintains data integrity by using consistent data collection and verification techniques; maintains official records and documents in accordance with Oregon Administrative Rules for retention, discovery, and destruction. 10. Completes sales confirmation by reviewing deeds, interviewing owners, contractors, real estate agents and others to obtain data related to terms and conditions of sales and/or listings; performs online research to adequately determine the validity of sales. 11. Prepares appraisals using the three approaches to value for appeal purposes and may testify before the Oregon Tax Court and lower-level appeal bodies regarding tax assessment appeals. You must meet the following qualifications to take the examination. NOTE: Meeting qualifications is determined by the State Department of Revenue (DOR) not Clackamas County. Step 2. PROPERTY APPRAISER- Registration Qualifications (1) An Associate in Science degree (or higher) in property appraisal, real estate technology, building construction/inspection technology, engineering or forestry technology, business administration or a related field; OR (2) Any combination of experience or education equivalent to two years in a field that would demonstrate the capacity to work as a Property Appraiser. Examples include property appraisal, public or business administration, real estate, finance, civil engineering, urban planning OR (3) Completion of an Oregon Department of Revenue approved appraisal training program, or County approved appraisal training program. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted for all college coursework except for a Bachelor's degree in business administration, forestry, agriculture or engineering. Appraiser Registration Examination- Qualifications The Oregon Department of Revenue, Human Resources will notify all applicants by email of the results of their qualification review. If you meet qualifications for the Property Appraiser 1 you must take an appraiser exam, and pass before you will be certified as a Registered Appraiser. You will be sent an acceptance letter notifying you that you have met the minimum qualifications for a Property Appraiser 1. There is no charge to take the exam, and you must complete the examination with 60 days of the date on your acceptance letter. Your examination will be graded by DOR Human Resources. Grade notification letters will be sent upon request to all applicants who have completed the written exam for Property Appraiser 1. If you pass the examination you will receive a Registered Appraiser 1 certificate. Step 5. The Property Appraiser Examination All testing is currently done virtually. In order to take it virtually you must have a camera and microphone. The appraiser examination is 100 multi-choice questions. The written test consists of general appraisal concepts, principles, processes, and definitions; surveying and mapping; vocabulary; appraisal processes; and valuation. The maximum time allowed for this test is three (3) hours. The minimum passing score is 70. If you do not receive a score of 70 or above, you may retake the County Property Appraiser examination.
